About the Role
eBay Motors is a multi-billion dollar global portfolio comprising Parts & Accessories (P&A), Business & Industrial, Vehicles, and WHI businesses. These categories are core to eBay’s strategic future and are actively innovating. The Director, UK P&A will report to and partner closely with the GM, Europe Parts & Accessories, to deliver the category strategy and plan for eBay’s P&A business in the UK. You will directly lead the UK P&A team, owning critical initiatives through solid-line, dotted-line, and horizontal/matrix leadership. The role demands a dual mentality: strategic leader with a deep understanding of two-sided marketplaces and a strong data intuition, as well as an embedded operator who can move quickly and decisively. Broad functional skills in marketing, product, and operations are a must-have.
Responsibilities
- Drive GMV/GMB expansion for the UK Parts & Accessories (P&A) business
- Partner with global and EU leadership to set strategy and identify opportunities for the UK P&A business
- Deliver the most abundant catalogue of P&A inventory
- Deliver outstanding end-to-end customer experience for Parts & Accessories
- Continue growing customer happiness by addressing inventory gaps, pricing, and trust gaps in P&A
- Attract and retain buyers and sellers, focusing on the sell-side of the marketplace
- Build strong connections with eBay’s leading P&A sellers and collaborate to drive significant growth
- Build a strong & diverse team focused on collaborating with large P&A sellers to drive market-leading growth
- Act as a servant leader and role model for the team, demonstrating leadership aligned with eBay’s culture and values
- Work closely with eBay’s UK country General Manager and their team to integrate the group and UK P&A operating plan into the broader UK country strategy
Requirements
- E-Commerce experience in both C2C and B2C commerce is ideal
- Strong ability to manage through influence in a matrix organization
- Currently operating at Director level with extensive experience in commercial roles
- A proven history of engaging with customer groups or industries is valuable
- Eagerness and passion to thoroughly explore the UK parts and automotive environment
- Demonstrated strategist with a history of achieving impactful results on a large scale
- Excellent decision-making skills with an interest in identifying, prioritizing, and articulating the highest impact initiatives
- Comfortable making decisions with imperfect information, ambiguity, and using data to meet deliverables and drive initiatives to completion within specified timelines
- Experienced people leader successfully building and developing teams
- Establishing relationships with key industry players and partners
- Experienced at influencing & negotiating
- Action-focused, growth-oriented, customer-centric ownership approach to drive performance against critical metrics
