About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual responsible for the upkeep and repair of buildings, equipment, and grounds, maintaining a clean, safe, and functioning environment.
Responsibilities
- Performing routine tasks such as cleaning, painting, and minor repairs.
- Troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining equipment, notifying management of unresolved issues.
- Conducting regular inspections and maintenance to prevent equipment contamination or system failures.
- Responding to urgent requests or repairs and ensuring timely resolutions.
- Maintaining an organized inventory of tools and supplies.
- Ensuring adherence to safety regulations and procedures.
- Maintaining accurate records of maintenance and repairs.
- Communicating effectively with building occupants and management regarding maintenance and safety needs.
- Ensuring the building and its assets are kept clean, functional, safe, and efficient.
- Sweeping, mopping, wiping, and changing filters.
- Maintaining Bistro and Restroom facilities.
- Maintaining printer, coffee, and ice machines.
- Conducting brief building inspections and addressing hazards with management immediately.
- Coordinating desk arrangements when requested.
- Ensuring the upkeep of grounds surrounding the property, including parking lots and walkways.
- Opening and closing the building securely.
Requirements
- Two (2) to three (3) years of commercial building maintenance experience.
- Able to lift 50+ lbs.
- Able to stand for extended periods of time and work at heights.
- Good communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work independently or as a team.
- Knowledge of maintenance and operation of common building equipment (Ex. Sinks, refrigerators, drains, ice makers, coffee machines, copy machines).
- Sectional furniture installation, including ergonomic adjustments to furniture assembly and/or disassembly of commercial furniture.
- Business moves, including relocation of computers, telephones, furniture, and employee’s property.
- Operate power tools and all basic/standard hand tools.
- Adapt to flexible work location and schedule.
- Excellent organizational and schedule management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- Team player with a proactive attitude.
- Willingness to learn and grow within the field of fire protection.
- Ability to travel as needed.
- Reliable transportation to and from your workplace.
- The job may require moderate physical labor including activities such as lifting equipment, climbing ladders, or working in confined spaces.
