About the Role

This individual will be responsible for developing and maintaining strategic business relationships with Oncology departments and practices, focusing on increasing education on product benefits/risks, developing new business, improving resource utilization, and growing sales and market share.

Responsibilities

  • Uses opportunities to understand and address customer needs, building strong relationships that provide market intelligence and support development of compliant and innovative programs.
  • Consistently partners with in-house and/or cross-franchise leaders to identify, design, and adapt appropriate approaches and tactics.
  • Delivers effective on-label technical and scientific presentations utilizing approved data to highlight product benefits and risks, resulting in sales quota achievement.
  • Serves as lead US Commercial contact with targeted accounts, collaborating with internal and co-promotion counterparts to provide excellent customer support.
  • Builds, implements, communicates, and updates strategic and tactical business plans for targeted accounts.
  • Facilitates site physician/treatment team training on approved and safe use of AbbVie’s products.
  • Monitors and reports on sales progress.
  • Provides routine communications with all internal and external partners.
  • Acts as AbbVie key point of contact to each account, responding to or directing customer inquiries.
  • Coordinates and ensures needed or requested support is delivered in a timely manner.
  • Attends and participates in local clinician boards, societies, and other HCP meetings.
  • Represents AbbVie and assigned products at venues, building/improving relationships.
  • Channels key information, developments, or findings to internal partners/stakeholders.
  • Remains current on all clinical, market, and payer developments, trends, and issues specific to oncology and disease areas.
  • Completes all AbbVie required training and maintains adherence to all company policies and OEC/Legal procedures.
  • Seeks out important information within assigned accounts and geography and articulates implications to the business.
  • Transfers knowledge to appropriate internal partners and integrates standard methodologies that have tangible value for customers and patients.
  • Establishes and maintains a complete understanding of approved product label and disease state knowledge.
  • Optimizes external and internal data, resources, and tools to identify sales opportunities and program strategies.
  • Actively participates in relevant organizational programs in local markets with legal/OEC approval.
  • Develops a strong command of available selling resources and tools to support selling strategies and maximize impact.
  • Meets healthcare industry representative credentialing requirements, which may include background checks, drug screens, and proof of immunization/vaccination.

  • Business savvy and analytical ability to analyze diverse sets of data using multiple tools and define account/program strategies.
  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of how to effectively meet customer needs in a complex environment through forward-thinking, innovative strategies.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills; ability to lead without direct authority.
  • Experience with successfully developing teams on complex projects or challenges to achieve results.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Persistency and grit with a strong track record of succeeding in a challenging environment.
