About the Role

The Manufacturing Technician I, Instruments will be responsible for the assembly and integration of mechanical, fluidic, electronic, optical, and electro-mechanical systems, delivering manufacturing requirements against production or project schedules within a focused manufacturing operation. This role involves system integration testing and troubleshooting, product knowledge, documentation transfer, training, and inter-departmental communication.

Responsibilities

Stages material for production as needed.
Coordinates with other technicians daily in support of integration testing, manual instruction development, and production process development.
Performs hands-on assembly, test, and troubleshooting of system builds and re-work.
Works from documented procedures and maintains quality data.
Delivers manufacturing requirements and attainment of production schedule.
Establishes an effective working partnership with other Luminex departments to promote effective communication and transfer knowledge/experience.
Participates in applicable departmental and interdepartmental training.
Maintains current and effective training to standard operating procedures, work instructions, and applicable changes affecting Reagent Manufacturing.
Maintains cleanliness and integrity of manufacturing and storage areas.
Performs timely and accurate inventory cycle counts.
Performs timely and accurate inventory-based transactions in Oracle.
Maintains personal compliance and facilitates departmental compliance with the Quality System.
Adheres to safety, disposal, and gowning requirements.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma required.
Currently pursuing an Associate's degree preferred.
Some mechanical or electronics related experience required.
