  • Manage grocery shopping/ordering, including unpacking.
  • Follow dietary needs and preferences for healthy meals.
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization.
  • Wash, fold, and organize all family laundry and linens.

  • Restock pantry and refrigerator household supplies on an ongoing basis.
  • Manage running household supply lists.
  • Oversee household orders and subscriptions (e.g., Amazon, Costco, Target).

  • Process mail and packages, including breaking down boxes.
  • Oversee or perform occasional deep cleans of appliances like the fridge, oven, washing machine, and dishwasher.

  • Tackle organizational projects in pantry and closet spaces.
  • Oversee cleaners and contractors as needed.
  • Research and coordinate repairs and vendor quotes.
  • Perform light cleaning and management of outdoor spaces.
  • Prep bags/backpacks for family outings as needed.
  • Handle kid-related errands as they arise.
  • Occasionally provide pick-ups/drop-offs, light supervision, or serve as backup childcare on rare occasions.
  • Maintain awareness of the family calendar, including household schedules.
  • Track receipts and manage budgets for expenses incurred as house manager.

About the Company

  • We are a busy two-parent household in Brooklyn with two young children. Both parents work in fast-paced fields and bring that same systems-oriented mindset home. We love for our home to feel calm, organized, and ready, but the reality of life with small kids means the logistics have grown beyond what we can manage on our own. We already have a wonderful nanny who handles weekday childcare, so this role is not about the kids directly — it's about everything else that keeps a household humming. In other contexts, we've been lucky enough to work with people who are proactive, self-directed, and genuinely invested in what they do, and that's the energy we're hoping to find in this role. We're an intentional family who genuinely loves creating a warm and well-run home — we just don't have the hours in the day to do it all. Mornings move fast, evenings are anchored by dinner and bedtime routines, so the in-between hours are where we need the most support. If you're someone who notices what needs to be done without being asked and takes pride in the details that make a home feel taken care of, you’re the perfect fit for us!
