About the Role

This position is responsible for overseeing sub-projects and Project Managers assigned to a Program, ensuring adherence to PMO best practices and standards. The Program Manager acts as the single point of contact for scope, status, escalations, and changes, and is accountable for meeting client business goals and overall program success.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively and proactively plan, create and manage program-level budgets, ensuring accuracy of Empower cost and actuals.
  • Monitor, manage, and communicate all push, pull, split, etc. activity and its impact on program financials.
  • Track project metrics, forecast future trends, and manage change.
  • Support monthly P&L reporting with account team and regional management.
  • Review and understand the scope of all projects under the program and ensure SOW reviews are performed.
  • Understand contract process, lead times, responsibilities, and implications of scope changes.
  • Ensure a full schedule is established, documented, and maintained weekly by the PM team.
  • Provide a plan on a page for the program and establish weekly project status and roll-up program status reporting.
  • Communicate program performance based on schedule and scope to leadership.
  • Develop and execute an efficient internal and external communication strategy and plan.
  • Define criteria and processes for managing and communicating escalations.
  • Ensure sub-project progress communication is aligned with approach, timing, and tool with the audience level.
  • Ensure sub-project Project Managers work effectively with respective management teams to build strong working relationships.
  • Monitor and report on risks, issues, and situations impeding program progress.
  • Take a proactive approach in addressing issues to avoid escalations.
  • Ensure all sub-project risks and issues are reported in Empower, managed to resolution, or closed.
  • Include risk and issue status and escalation in regular governance reviews.
  • Ensure appropriate stakeholder analysis is done across projects and requirements are included in the Communication Plan.
  • Serve as program trusted advisor.
  • Regularly monitor stakeholder feedback and adjust communication plan as needed.
  • Demonstrate the highest level of customer care and delight.
  • Coordinate the sharing of resources among constituent projects for the overall benefit of the program.
  • Develop a program strategy and plan and translate it to the delivering team.
  • Communicate program health and progress to key stakeholders.
  • Represent WWT's interests professionally and effectively.
  • Communicate and lead in a way that inspires and directs the team to a common goal.
  • Motivate and set clear roles, responsibilities, and objectives for the team.
  • Use a proactive approach to problem resolution and conflict, taking charge and making decisions when needed.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years' progressive experience in a related field is required.
  • Thoroughly understands the programmatic approach (including global) and possesses the ability to build program structure.
  • Excellent understanding of financial processes with the ability to create pro forma, track project metrics, forecast future trends and manage change.
  • Excellent understanding of the contract process with the ability to manage contract modifications, control the impact to a program, and take the lead for negotiations on contract scope, cost and schedule.
  • Ability to work independently and aggressively track to project timelines.
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation).
  • Strong MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
  • Proficiency in working with project management software, i.e.: MS Project.
  • Must have strong presentation and relationship building skills.

Experience Level

  • 5+ years of progressive experience

Education Level

  • Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in a related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification through the Project Management Institute (PMI) is preferred.
