About the Role

We are seeking a Compliance Assurance Analyst to join our second line of defence (2LoD). This role is crucial for providing oversight and challenge across Monzo, ensuring effective management of conduct and compliance risks while maintaining a superior customer experience. As part of the Risk and Compliance Collective, you will significantly contribute to Monzo's safe, responsible, and regulatory-aligned growth.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver assurance reviews across key regulations, processes, and controls to help teams manage compliance and conduct risks.
  • Provide clear, actionable feedback to enhance Monzo's control environment and support fair customer outcomes.
  • Support the Compliance Assurance Plan through effective oversight and challenge of first-line activities.
  • Produce high-quality reports, management information, and recommendations for business stakeholders.
  • Track and validate remediation actions from assurance reviews for effective resolution.
  • Assist with compliance risk assessments, assurance planning, and the ongoing development of assurance methodologies.
  • Foster a positive culture around regulation, compliance, and continuous improvement via training, collaboration, and innovation.

Requirements

  • Experience in compliance, assurance, or audit within a regulated financial services environment.
  • Solid understanding of FCA regulations and guidance, including Consumer Duty, Vulnerable Customers, and conduct requirements.
  • Ability to analyze complex information and translate findings into clear, practical recommendations.
  • Understanding of risk and compliance functions and their role in supporting customer and business outcomes.
  • Organized, proactive, and capable of managing competing priorities in a fast-paced setting.
  • Skilled in building strong relationships with diverse stakeholders and communicating effectively at all levels.
  • Enthusiasm for shaping the future of banking and viewing compliance as a growth enabler.
