About the Role

The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for the care, maintenance, and repair of machinery, facilities, and grounds.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with all company policies, cGMP, OSHA, Federal, State and Local regulations and procedures.
  • Assemble complex production equipment according to blueprints, diagrams, and written instructions.
  • Install and connect various components such as motors, gears, conveyor belts, sensors, and control systems.
  • Test assembled equipment to ensure proper operation and make necessary adjustments.
  • Maintain accurate records of all assembly work, including any deviations from plans or instructions.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment as needed.
  • Maintain the overall appearance and functionality of the facility by completing a wide range of repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Perform painting.
  • Perform drywall repair.
  • Fix leaks.
  • Replace light bulbs.
  • Repair or replace equipment as needed.
  • Work independently, with the ability to prioritize and manage own workload effectively.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Requires a High School education or G.E.D.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a related field.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment as needed.
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues with equipment, often under tight deadlines and with limited resources.
  • Meticulous in work and able to follow instructions and procedures carefully.
  • Effective communication skills with team members, supervisors, and other stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • May be required to stand for long periods of time, lift heavy objects, and work in awkward positions.
  • Awareness of and adherence to safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Ability to adapt to changing needs and priorities and willingness to learn new skills.
  • Must be able to work an entire shift (8 – 12 hours) standing or sitting.
  • Must be medically qualified to work while using a half-mask respirator or powered air purifying respirator for up to four hours at a time and follow program guidelines.
  • Must be able to work in a stationary position as well as move about unassisted.
  • Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as circumstances arise.
  • Must have sufficient range of motion with arms and hands to reach overhead and to the side, often repetitively.
  • Must be able to hear and converse with supervisors and other employees.
  • Must be able to see and read small print.
  • Must be able to work in a moderate noise level environment.
  • Must be able to work a 12-, 10- or 8-hour shift.
  • Must be able to move or lift items weighing up to 55 pounds from floor to table and from table to floor, often repetitively.
  • Maintain a professional attitude and appearance.
  • Performs tasks outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
  • Exposure to airborne dust particles, moving mechanical parts, heavy machinery and powered industrial equipment.
  • Proper PPE and gowning requirements must always be followed.
  • Must be able to pass a background check & drug screen.
  • Occasional overtime may be required during peak periods.
