About the Role
PIMCO Product Strategists are investment professionals specializing in a strategy area or market sector, acting as recognized experts internally and externally. They lead new business development, focus on long-term strategic positioning, and capture near-term demand opportunities to drive sustained high growth rates and profitability. Strategists leverage specialized knowledge to lead all strategic aspects of their area, akin to running a focused global business unit.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the local expert on PIMCO’s fixed income strategies internally and externally.
- Develop a strong partnership with portfolio management teams to act as a credible PM substitute and product expert for relationship managers and marketers.
- Represent PIMCO at client meetings, industry conferences, and meetings with other market participants in Europe.
- Develop marketing, servicing, and educational materials, including presentations, commentaries, investor reports, and white papers.
- Work with investors and advisors to identify investment needs and recommend suitable strategies and solutions.
- Identify demand for new products, and develop, position, and support those products.
- Partner with client-facing PIMCO professionals to service and grow the business globally.
Requirements
- 7+ years of relevant work experience in asset management or sell-side industry.
- A CFA, Masters or MBA degree with an emphasis in Finance and Economics or an equivalent advanced degree.
- Ability to conduct business-level discussions in at least one other European Language (Italian/French/Spanish preferred).
- Robust understanding of macroeconomics and fixed income fundamentals.
- Aptitude in analyzing and communicating portfolio strategy and risk factors.
- Enthusiasm for the financial markets and investment management.
- Understanding of the various channels of demand and distribution for fixed income products.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Aptitude for public speaking in both formal and informal settings.
- Entrepreneurial drive to build a business coupled with the ability to be a cooperative team player.
- High level of organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work according to business needs.
