About the Role

You will own the clinical and scientific story end-to-end, deciding which biomarkers and clinical questions the company pursues and shaping the scientific roadmap for years to come. This role is crucial for communicating the company's biological vision to investors, design partners, and clinical collaborators.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the scientific narrative, linking biomarkers to clinical decisions for commercial strategies, investor pitches, and grants.
  • Cultivate clinical and research partnerships across hematology, oncology, infectious disease, transplant, and translational research.
  • Define the assay and panel strategy, including marker selection, clinical rationale, and evidence requirements.
  • Oversee clinical evidence generation and trial design, collaborating with regulatory consultants on pathways like pre-submission, CLIA-Waiver/IVDR, and pivotal studies.
  • Recruit and chair a Clinical Advisory Board composed of specialists in priority therapy areas.
  • Contribute to scientific authorship, including publications and grant submissions, to enhance biological credibility.
  • Frame future scientific direction by identifying clinical and translational opportunities that align with the evolving roadmap.

Requirements

  • MD, PhD, or DPhil in hematology, immunology, clinical pathology, or cancer immunology.
  • 5-10 years of industrial experience as CMO/CSO in diagnostics, cytometry, or cell therapy, or equivalent translational research portfolio with prior spinout experience.
  • Proven experience in designing multiparameter immunophenotyping panels and translating them into clinical decisions.
  • Deep understanding of how oncologists use CTC counts, hematologists use MRD, and HIV physicians use CD4/CD8 ratios.
  • Active clinical practice (1 day/week NHS or honorary contract) is a strong asset.
