About the Role

Join our Legal & Regulatory division as a Software Engineer Intern, empowering legal and compliance professionals with AI-powered solutions. You will gain hands-on experience building product features and contribute to both backend and frontend development in a collaborative, agile environment at the Merantix AI Campus in Berlin.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of product features across the stack, from backend APIs to frontend interfaces.
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver user-friendly and performant features.
  • Write clean, maintainable code and follow software engineering best practices.
  • Assist in testing, debugging, and improving existing systems.
  • Learn and apply modern technologies, including AI tools, to improve development workflows.
  • Participate in team discussions and contribute ideas to improve the product.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Some academic, personal, or internship experience in software development.
  • Familiarity with Python (FastAPI is a plus) or willingness to learn.
  • Basic knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript and modern web development frameworks.
  • Understanding of fundamental programming concepts and software engineering principles.
  • Interest in AI technologies and tools (e.g., LLMs, coding assistants) is a plus.

  • Strong willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
  • Ability to take initiative and collaborate with a team.
  • Good communication skills in English (German is a plus).
