About the Role

Facilitate and coordinate clinical placements for professional practice experiences for all nursing students enrolled in ANMAC accredited programs. Foster a positive learning environment and promote the integration of theoretical knowledge with clinical practice.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and manage clinical placements and rotations in collaboration with academic staff, ensuring alignment with program curricula, learning objectives, and regulatory requirements.
• Build and maintain relationships with hospitals, clinics, and other clinical sites; negotiate placement agreements and ensure compliance with institutional, University, and regulatory requirements.
• Deliver student orientation sessions, provide guidance during placements, address queries and concerns, and monitor performance and professionalism to support student success.
• Recruit, onboard, and maintain a network of qualified clinical preceptors; foster ongoing communication and development.
• Maintain accurate records of placements, facilitator credentials, affiliation agreements, and other documentation; monitor clinical experience quality and contribute to program evaluation and quality improvement initiatives.
• Facilitate effective communication between students, academic staff, preceptors, and healthcare partners; coordinate meetings and represent the nursing program at relevant external events.
• Develop and deliver course content, instructional materials, and learning activities; provide feedback, pastoral care, and guidance to students.
• Evaluate student performance through assignments, assessments, and clinical competencies; provide timely feedback and maintain records of academic progress.

Requirements

• Postgraduate qualifications in Nursing, Midwifery or area of speciality.
• Current registration with AHPRA with no notations and/or restrictions
• Minimum 5 years post registration in healthcare education, clinical coordinator or related field.
• Proven experience in the preceptorship/mentorship and supervision of nursing students/junior staff within a clinical setting.
• Expert knowledge of healthcare industry regulations, accreditation standards for nursing and midwifery education programs and clinical placement best practices.
• Sound knowledge of registered nurse practice standards, nursing education principles, clinical teaching methods, and student assessment techniques.
• Excellent organisational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills to build relationships.
• Well-developed competence in computer and database management, including creating and optimising organisational systems.
• Ability to provide high-quality pastoral care and support to students, demonstrating professionalism, empathy, and sound judgement.
• Current and valid work rights in Australia.

• Level C from $142,864 + 14.50% super
• 1st July EA increase to, $147,864 + 15% super.
