About the Role

Sky News is seeking an experienced finance professional to join their FP&A team. This role offers a hands-on opportunity to support a dynamic news brand, providing critical insights and analysis to drive strategic decision-making. The Senior Financial Analyst will have end-to-end financial ownership of assigned Business Units and interact with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Spearhead the end-to-end implementation of Vena Solutions, transforming budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Deliver financial performance reviews and provide insights into key drivers, trends, and opportunities.
  • Manage and drive month-end and quarter-end reporting processes.
  • Partner with Business Unit leaders to develop annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-range financial plans.
  • Translate complex financial data into clear, concise insights for non-financial stakeholders.
  • Conduct scenario modelling and sensitivity analysis.
  • Monitor and evaluate financial metrics, costs, and benefits.
  • Educate and support non-finance teams with financial concepts, tools, and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with internal finance policies and external accounting standards.
  • Contribute to finance process improvements and automation initiatives.
  • Contribute to ad hoc strategic and operational projects.

Requirements

  • Degree-qualified in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related discipline.
  • CA/CPA qualified accreditation.
  • Minimum 5+ years previous experience in accounting.
  • At least 2+ years in a commercial finance or FP&A role.
  • Strong analytical skills and confidence working with large data sets.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint proficiency.
  • Comfortable leveraging financial systems and technology.
  • Detail-oriented with a high standard of accuracy and presentation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to build effective relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Proactive, resilient, and adaptable in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Humble, team-first approach, with a strong work ethic and collaborative mindset.
