About the Role
Sky News is seeking an experienced finance professional to join their FP&A team. This role offers a hands-on opportunity to support a dynamic news brand, providing critical insights and analysis to drive strategic decision-making. The Senior Financial Analyst will have end-to-end financial ownership of assigned Business Units and interact with senior stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Spearhead the end-to-end implementation of Vena Solutions, transforming budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Deliver financial performance reviews and provide insights into key drivers, trends, and opportunities.
- Manage and drive month-end and quarter-end reporting processes.
- Partner with Business Unit leaders to develop annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-range financial plans.
- Translate complex financial data into clear, concise insights for non-financial stakeholders.
- Conduct scenario modelling and sensitivity analysis.
- Monitor and evaluate financial metrics, costs, and benefits.
- Educate and support non-finance teams with financial concepts, tools, and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with internal finance policies and external accounting standards.
- Contribute to finance process improvements and automation initiatives.
- Contribute to ad hoc strategic and operational projects.
Requirements
- Degree-qualified in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related discipline.
- CA/CPA qualified accreditation.
- Minimum 5+ years previous experience in accounting.
- At least 2+ years in a commercial finance or FP&A role.
- Strong analytical skills and confidence working with large data sets.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint proficiency.
- Comfortable leveraging financial systems and technology.
- Detail-oriented with a high standard of accuracy and presentation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to build effective relationships with senior stakeholders.
- Proactive, resilient, and adaptable in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Humble, team-first approach, with a strong work ethic and collaborative mindset.
