About the Role

We are a core part of the global audio software development team for PlayStation, continuously evolving the immersion of the gaming experience. Our mission is to dominate player emotions and immersion through sound, using cutting-edge spatial audio technology. This position will be responsible for developing next-generation spatial audio expression in an environment that demands real-time performance and physical accuracy, impacting developers and players worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement spatial audio expression using Ray Tracing.
  • Develop real-time audio simulation integrated with game engines.
  • Implement physics-based audio algorithms such as sound reflection, diffraction, and occlusion.
  • Optimize for high performance and low latency.
  • Engage in technical discussions and collaborative development with global teams.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and implementation experience of spatial expression using Ray Tracing.
  • Basic knowledge of acoustics (wave propagation, reflection, attenuation, localization, etc.).
  • Basic understanding of physics simulation.
  • Programming ability in C / C++ / Assembly, etc.
  • Implementation experience with performance and memory constraints in mind.
  • Experience in developing spatial audio, 3D audio, HRTF, etc. (Preferred)
  • Experience in game, real-time simulation, or middleware development (Preferred)
  • Passion for designing algorithms based on mathematics and physics (Preferred)
  • Strong passion for changing experiences through sound (Preferred)
