About the Role

RBC Capital Markets is seeking undergraduate students for our Corporate Banking Summer Internship Program in Sydney. This program offers opportunities and professional development to kickstart a finance career within a premier investment bank known for its financial strength and global reach.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Corporate Banking team in the origination, structuring, execution, administration, and portfolio management of credit facilities and M&A-related financings.
  • Participate in the due diligence process by analyzing company filings, financial statements, diligence reports, and equity/credit research.
  • Attend management presentations and diligence calls.
  • Assist with the preparation of internal credit presentations and credit analyses.
  • Analyze financial models to assess creditworthiness.
  • Collaborate with peers from Investment Banking, Leveraged Finance, Risk Management, and other internal product partners.
  • Assess deal structures, industry dynamics, and investment merits.
  • Support team members with portfolio management, administration, reporting, pipeline management, and budgeting.
  • Liaise with back and middle office functions to set up transactions.
  • Utilize AI tools to enhance productivity, client insights, and risk analysis.

Requirements

  • Highly motivated candidates with a balance of university, work experience, and extra-curricular activities.
  • Proven analytical skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to play a key role in a fast-paced, challenging team environment.
  • Genuine interest in corporate finance and credit.
  • Must be in their penultimate year of study.
  • Must be Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents or eligible to work in Australia.
