About the Role
As a Director of Development, you will own and manage a team of software engineers and managers responsible for software architecture and development for major components of Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure. You should be comfortable with low-level operating systems development, architecting broad systems interactions, and be hands-on, able to dive deep into any part of the stack. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn.
Responsibilities
- Apply extensive knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks.
- Develop, debug, and design software applications, operating systems, and databases according to provided design specifications.
- Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and envision future improvements.
- Assist in the development of short, medium, and long-term plans to achieve strategic objectives.
- Drive major aspects of product definition.
- Contribute to the product strategy of solutions.
- Contribute to the development and evolution of Platform services.
Requirements
- 10 years of software engineering or related experience.
- Comfortable with low-level operating systems development.
- Able to architect broad systems interactions.
- Hands-on, able to dive deep into any part of the stack and higher-level system interactions.
- Value simplicity and scale.
- Work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment.
- Excited to learn.
- Comfortable with arrest and conviction records pursuant to applicable law.
