About the Role

As a Director of Development, you will own and manage a team of software engineers and managers responsible for software architecture and development for major components of Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure. You should be comfortable with low-level operating systems development, architecting broad systems interactions, and be hands-on, able to dive deep into any part of the stack. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn.

Responsibilities

Apply extensive knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks.
Develop, debug, and design software applications, operating systems, and databases according to provided design specifications.
Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and envision future improvements.
Assist in the development of short, medium, and long-term plans to achieve strategic objectives.
Drive major aspects of product definition.
Contribute to the product strategy of solutions.
Contribute to the development and evolution of Platform services.

Requirements

10 years of software engineering or related experience.
Comfortable with low-level operating systems development.
Able to architect broad systems interactions.
Hands-on, able to dive deep into any part of the stack and higher-level system interactions.
Value simplicity and scale.
Work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment.
Excited to learn.
Comfortable with arrest and conviction records pursuant to applicable law.
