About the Role
This role involves an AI-first engineering rebuild for a company with an audience of over 100 million people. It is a zero-to-one build, offering the opportunity to design a data platform from scratch without legacy constraints. The primary objective is to establish a privacy-safe data foundation that supports product development and AI initiatives across the company. This includes designing, building, and operating the data platform for the MrBeast ecosystem, creating scalable batch and real-time pipelines for analytics, reporting, ML, and operational decisions, ensuring high pipeline availability, and reducing data delivery latency on critical datasets.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable batch and streaming data pipelines.
- Develop and maintain enterprise data models, schemas, and storage architectures.
- Optimize data processing for performance, reliability, and cost.
- Build automated testing, monitoring, observability, and alerting for data systems.
- Partner with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical data solutions.
- Set, promote, and drive adoption of data engineering standards, governance, and best practices.
- Troubleshoot complex platform issues and production incidents.
- Mentor engineers through design reviews.
Requirements
- Use AI in workflow and build data foundations for modern AI and ML.
- Typically 8+ years designing and operating production-grade data platforms.
- Proven ability to improve, measure, and sustain pipeline reliability and data quality.
- Lead complex technical initiatives independently, taking ownership from design through operational support.
- Experience building cloud-based data solutions and modern data architectures.
