About the Role

This role involves an AI-first engineering rebuild for a company with an audience of over 100M people. It is a zero-to-one build, offering the opportunity to define a modern frontend stack from scratch and create customer-facing experiences used by millions.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable frontend architectures for complex web applications.
• Build and maintain reusable UI components and design-system integrations.
• Partner with product managers and designers to create high-quality experiences.
• Lead technical design discussions and own architectural decisions.
• Optimize for performance, accessibility, responsiveness, and usability across core flows.
• Set and enforce frontend standards and patterns across teams.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews and technical guidance.
• Resolve production issues.
• Build scalable, performant frontend architectures and reusable components for consumer apps with potential to reach 100M+ people.
• Own and improve page-load times and frontend latency for core user journeys.
• Utilize AI coding agents and modern tooling for shipping.

Requirements

• Proficiency in using AI coding agents daily.
• Familiarity with modern tooling.
• 8+ years in software engineering with serious frontend depth.
• Experience building modern web applications in JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Experience maintaining scalable architectures in production.
• Command of performance optimization, testing strategy, accessibility, and web standards.
• Ability to prove performance wins with metrics.
• Ability to own problems from design through production support.
• Ability to raise the bar for other engineers.
