This role, Quality Control Supervisor, Instrument - 2, involves direct supervision of incoming inspection personnel, ensuring effective resource utilization to meet company and regulatory goals. It also ensures adherence to safety, quality, GMP, ISO, and housekeeping standards, provides technical support for process improvement, and plays a key role in Lean Manufacturing Implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise incoming inspection personnel and ensure effective resource utilization to meet company and regulatory goals.
  • Ensure adherence to Safety, Quality, GMP, ISO, and housekeeping standards.
  • Provide technical support and implement process improvements to minimize cost and increase productivity.
  • Play a key role in Lean Manufacturing Implementation.
  • Supervise and resolve difficult inspection process problems using sound solution methodologies.
  • Ensure proper incoming inspection of components, packaging materials, and final products in compliance with company procedures and ISO/FDA/GMP standards.
  • Review inspection, labeling, and release logistics for appropriate process flow and documentation.
  • Update drawings, inspection procedures, and other documentation for product inspection, testing, or purchasing.
  • Oversee supplier quality metrics, including first pass yield.
  • Collect and analyze data to track improvements and develop corrective actions.
  • Conduct analysis, inspection, and trending per inspection plans and quality standards to assure product or component quality.
  • Supervise personnel in the incoming inspection area to ensure control, safety, quality, and schedule adherence.
  • Coordinate subordinate work to achieve daily business schedules and assigned goals.
  • Support and execute quality goals and initiatives.
  • Interact with suppliers, vendors, and/or customers as needed to support business needs.
  • Develop, establish, and continuously improve incoming inspection controls for new and existing products.
  • Motivate, supervise, and develop personnel in a team environment.
  • Investigate and manage NCMRs, including investigation, additional testing, test analysis, disposition, ERP inventory reconciliation, and corrective action follow-up.
  • Ensure results are recorded on inspection forms and report defect numbers.
  • Maintain department files for readily retrievable record access.
  • Ensure good documentation practices during document review and inspection.
  • Ensure incoming parts are inspected according to blueprint and drawing specifications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 5 years of relevant experience in a hardware manufacturing environment in an FDA regulated industry and/or ISO certified organization with a Bachelor’s Degree; preferred
  • 8 years of relevant experience required with an Associate Degree. preferred
  • 2 years of relevant Manufacturing Operations leadership experience. preferred

Experience Level

  • 5 years of relevant experience in a hardware manufacturing environment in an FDA regulated industry and/or ISO certified organization with a Bachelor’s Degree; preferred
  • 8 years of relevant experience required with an Associate Degree. preferred
  • 2 years of relevant Manufacturing Operations leadership experience. preferred

Education Level

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Life Science or Engineering discipline
  • Associate Degree
