About the Role

Spearhead the development of state-of-the-art natural language processing (NLP) and large language model (LLM) solutions for next-generation compliance and surveillance systems. Work on specialized problems at the intersection of NLP, communications intelligence, financial supervision, and regulatory compliance, leveraging unstructured data to uncover misconduct and risk. Collaborate with Senior Data Scientists and mentor Associate Data Scientists in data analysis, insight generation, and solution creation. The role requires technical excellence in NLP modeling and a deep understanding of financial domain behavior, including insider trading, market manipulation, and regulatory risk areas. Perform independent and team-based research, generate insights from large datasets, and manage day-to-day data requests and analysis. Gain exposure to taking machine learning and analytics research to production, interfacing with business leaders, ML researchers, data engineers, platform engineers, and data scientists to achieve end-to-end data science proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret datasets to uncover insights for statistical methods and machine learning algorithm development.
  • Lead the design, training, and deployment of NLP and transformer-based models for financial surveillance and supervisory use cases.
  • Develop machine learning models and analytics, optimizing established workflows.
  • Perform data annotation and quality review.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis and model fail state analysis.
  • Contribute to model governance, documentation, and explainability frameworks aligned with AI standards.

  • Strong knowledge of key programming concepts.
  • Solid statistics knowledge.
  • Knowledge of NLP transfer learning, including word embedding and transformer models.
  • Experience with natural language processing toolkits.
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture and continuous delivery concepts in machine learning.
  • Familiarity with Deep Learning techniques for NLP.
  • Familiarity with LLMs using ollama and Langchain.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively in a team.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (AWS, GCS, Azure).
