About the Role

This role empowers smarter medical and economic decision-making, transforming health management at all life stages. As a Strategic Leader within the Technical Solution Design (TSD) team, you will build a best-in-class technical team covering Core Diagnostics, including Lab Systems/Automation, Informatics, Workflow, and Consulting. The TSD Regional Manager, East will develop and design strategies for complex customer bases like key strategic accounts and national/regional health systems. Responsibilities include managing multiple TSD "pods," fostering professional growth, developing training programs, creating technical materials with marketing and RFP teams, and ensuring team regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead regional TSD teams as a strategic sales leader, developing customer relationships to drive technical sales differentiation.
  • Guide the regional technical solution design team to analyze user needs, gather requirements, and design integrated, scalable solutions for clinical diagnostic healthcare customers.
  • Coordinate with various departments including Sales, hospital executives, lab managers, project managers, IT personnel, and internal/external vendors.
  • Manage a team of technical experts, serving as a communication link between US customers, sales, service teams, and international counterparts.
  • Manage TSD team activities and workload to meet sales timelines for solution design deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain competitive comparisons to support business strategy.
  • Act as primary commercial contact for technical specialist teams, leveraging clinical laboratory science and operations knowledge for product and process improvement.
  • Partner with Sales to identify consulting opportunities and develop customized solutions, including RFI/RFP assistance, solution development, and customer presentations.
  • Develop the team to function as a single unit covering all technical expertise for Abbott products.
  • Build and maintain effective long-term relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Manage and support sales objectives and customer satisfaction.
  • Implement and maintain the effectiveness of the quality system.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in clinical laboratory design specialties: strategic selling, automation, instrumentation, analytics, workflow, and/or informatics.
  • Display leadership, mentor and coach team members, and lead training for succession planning within TSD.
  • Maintain fiscal responsibility for revenue and expenses, aiming to exceed annual work plans.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in selling technical products/services/installations of automated diagnostics/laboratory automation systems, clinical laboratory science/operations/workflows, modifying informatics/middleware/automation software, or conducting data analyses with data mining software.

  • $113,300.00 - $226,700.00
