About the Role

This role ensures seamless integration and execution of Testing & Commissioning (T&C) activities for the Alstom Urbalis Flo solution, contributing to the safety, efficiency, and success of railway signaling projects. The role involves close collaboration with Engineering, Installation, V&V, Safety, Quality, and Project Management teams, developing and executing T&C procedures, and ensuring compliance with EHS and railway safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute Test & Commissioning (T&C) activities for railway signaling subsystems, ensuring successful completion and handover.
  • Lead test activities for railway signaling systems, ensuring T&C processes follow approved procedures.
  • Ensure all installation documentation, including field modifications (FMI), is recorded, reported, and approved.
  • Conduct deep troubleshooting of wayside/railway systems and Urbalis Flo equipment to identify root causes of failures and integration issues.
  • Define containment and sustainable solutions with support from the Test team and Engineering.
  • Share findings with Installation, Test & Commissioning, and project management teams.
  • Conduct work planning, pre-work safety briefs, and post-work debriefs.
  • Escalate matters as required to meet project Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) targets.

Requirements

  • In-depth experience or understanding of Installation, Testing & Commissioning (T&C) activities for railway signaling projects.
  • In-depth experience or understanding of Verification & Validation (V&V) activities for railway signaling projects.
  • Strong knowledge of railway signaling subsystems and installation processes for the Alstom Urbalis Flo product line.
  • Familiarity with interfacing between Design, Installation, and other stakeholders.
  • Willingness to work in the field and on night shifts (including weekends) as required to support project milestones.
  • Flexibility and availability for short or long missions in different locations and countries.

Education Level

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably electronics or embedded systems)
  • Technical Degree combined with equivalent years of experience

Salary/Compensations

  • $80,000 - $100,000 CAD per year
  • Eligibility for an annual performance bonus
