About the Role

This V&V Engineer role within the Integrated Products design team in Austin, TX, involves working throughout the product lifecycle to develop products and systems that expand test and measurement industry capabilities. V&V engineers are critical for ensuring new designs meet project and customer requirements, with opportunities for skill expansion and participation in automated verification and validation initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Specify, design, and create automated test solutions for verifying and validating new product specifications and performance requirements
  • Utilize LabVIEW GOOP skills to develop test applications in a Component-Based development architecture
  • Participate in product and system design and development to ensure test requirements are considered and implemented
  • Execute test plans, collect data, and generate reports for analysis and review
  • Collaborate with a global engineering and manufacturing team to ensure smooth realization of new products and systems
  • Review and approve product specifications and customer user documentation

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Familiarity with common benchtop instruments such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, function generators, and power supplies
  • Software Development experience in C#, C++, python, or LabVIEW
  • Located within a commutable distance to Emerson / NI’s offices in Austin, TX, or willing to relocate
  • Relevant engineering experience in automated validation & verification
  • Experience using LabVIEW GOOP
  • Familiarity with Emerson Test & Measurement (NI) products and systems
  • Experience with .NET, python, and other programming languages
  • Experience with product performance specification setting
  • Knowledge of metrological best practices, tools, and standards
  • Experience collaborating with other technical engineering disciplines such as Analog, Digital, Software, Mechanical, and RF
