About the Role

As an early engineer, own significant product areas from day one. Work across the stack to deliver products that enhance revenue, patient experience, and clinical efficiency. This build-and-own role involves scoping problems, engaging users, coding, shipping, and monitoring impact. The work covers real-time patient communication, payments, billing, EMR workflows, and AI agents.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and ship end-to-end full-stack features.
  • Build and harden infrastructure for payments, patient messaging, and clinical documentation, ensuring correctness and uptime.
  • Integrate and productionize AI capabilities into clinical and front-desk workflows.
  • Collaborate with customers and founders to deliver solutions for ambiguous problems.
  • Ensure quality by writing tests, instrumenting features, and promptly fixing issues.
  • Establish technical foundations, patterns, tooling, and standards for future engineers.

Requirements

  • 3+ years building and shipping production software, ideally at a startup or on a small team with end-to-end feature ownership.
  • Strong fundamentals in a modern backend language and a typed frontend stack, with full-stack comfort.
  • Solid grasp of data modeling, APIs, and relational databases (SQL).
  • Bias for shipping and iterating quickly with users.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a strong sense of ownership.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, with interest in user interaction.
  • Experience in healthcare, fintech/payments, or other regulated, high-trust domains (nice to have).
  • Hands-on experience integrating LLMs or AI agents into production (nice to have).
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (GCP), containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and CI/CD (nice to have).
  • Real-time systems experience (voice, messaging, event-driven architectures) (nice to have).
  • Early-stage startup experience and a track record of high output with a small team (nice to have).
