About the Role

Provide support to the finance team in the US Trade Books division. This role is ideal for individuals who take initiative and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop monthly forecasts and annual budget analysis.
  • Assist in monthly financial close, including results analysis, variance reconciliation, report generation, and journal entry initiation.
  • Coordinate and manage monthly metrics memos/presentations preparation.
  • Research and analyze title financial information.
  • Facilitate title P&L acquisition process, assist editorial staff with P&Ls, and provide ad hoc P&L support.
  • Assist with the forecasting system, including report generation and data/model performance testing.
  • Evaluate current business processes, eliminate duplications, and coordinate information requirements to increase productivity across business units.
  • Provide information to management by assembling and summarizing data, preparing reports, and presenting findings, analyses, and recommendations.
  • Manage special projects on an ad hoc basis.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of related experience
  • 4-year college degree or equivalent experience
  • Background in finance, accounting, economics, or business preferred
  • Strong understanding of accounting and finance concepts and principals
  • Excellent verbal, analytical, written and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to identify and solve problems
  • Ability to deliver value added analyses
  • Ability to take initiative on projects
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Hyperion Planning, Smartview, and PowerBI knowledge a plus
