About the Role
Provide support to the finance team in the US Trade Books division. This role is ideal for individuals who take initiative and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop monthly forecasts and annual budget analysis.
- Assist in monthly financial close, including results analysis, variance reconciliation, report generation, and journal entry initiation.
- Coordinate and manage monthly metrics memos/presentations preparation.
- Research and analyze title financial information.
- Facilitate title P&L acquisition process, assist editorial staff with P&Ls, and provide ad hoc P&L support.
- Assist with the forecasting system, including report generation and data/model performance testing.
- Evaluate current business processes, eliminate duplications, and coordinate information requirements to increase productivity across business units.
- Provide information to management by assembling and summarizing data, preparing reports, and presenting findings, analyses, and recommendations.
- Manage special projects on an ad hoc basis.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of related experience
- 4-year college degree or equivalent experience
- Background in finance, accounting, economics, or business preferred
- Strong understanding of accounting and finance concepts and principals
- Excellent verbal, analytical, written and interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management
- Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to identify and solve problems
- Ability to deliver value added analyses
- Ability to take initiative on projects
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Hyperion Planning, Smartview, and PowerBI knowledge a plus
