About the Role

The Vehicle Delivery Driver creates an exceptional car-buying experience by delivering vehicles from online purchases to customer homes. This role involves loading, unloading, finalizing paperwork, and handing over keys, representing CarMax with professionalism, strong communication, and a commitment to safety while driving a company-owned truck.

Responsibilities

• Operate a two-car hauler to deliver vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Load, transport, and unload vehicles at designated locations, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries.
• Facilitate home delivery transactions, including paperwork and customer handoff.
• Provide outstanding customer service, interacting with customers and team members professionally.
• Perform condition checks and verify vehicles meet CarMax cosmetic standards before delivery.
• Conduct daily equipment inspections to maintain safety and operational excellence.
• Maintain accurate logs and documentation in compliance with company requirements.

Requirements

• 21 years of age or older with a valid state-issued driver’s license.
• Class B CDL preferred; additional state-specific endorsements may apply (e.g., Illinois Class C, Indiana “For Hire,” Louisiana Chauffeur’s License, Mississippi Class D Commercial).
• Clean driving record with no more than 6 penalty points in the last three years.
• 1+ year of customer service experience.
• 1+ year of delivery driving experience or CarMax experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to operate a manual transmission.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Must possess or obtain a DOT Medical Card within 28 days of hire.

• $21.60 - $36.80 hourly

Benefits

• Up to 48 hours of sick time per year, accrued per pay period.
• Between 80 and 200 hours of vacation time per year after a 90-day waiting period, depending on years of continuous service.
• 8 hours of pay for each of 6 paid scheduled holidays per year.
• 1 floating holiday.
