About the Role

This role involves leading the structural design of complex water, wastewater, and resiliency infrastructure projects, including treatment facilities, pump stations, and flood protection systems. The position focuses on reinforced concrete and steel structures, such as process tanks, foundations, floodwalls, and treatment facility support structures, providing technical leadership and project impact for regional and national projects.

Responsibilities

Manage project structural scope, including planning, budgeting, and execution.
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership.
Assist with design and detailed document production.
Ensure project quality.
Strengthen structural team capabilities.
Collaborate with clients and stakeholders on project execution.
Contribute to proposals and technical approaches for project design.
Design projects related to flood resilience, new treatment plants, treatment plant upgrades, and structural rehabilitation.
Apply understanding of construction methods and constructability for practical and efficient designs.
Evaluate existing structures and develop repair/strengthening solutions.
Coordinate with contractors to address construction constraints for treatment facilities, floodwalls, and heavy structural systems.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
Professional Engineer (PE) license
10 years of structural engineering experience

Skills

Demonstrated experience in the design of reinforced concrete, structural steel, and masonry systems.
Experience with design of water and/or wastewater facility structures, flood protection systems, and infrastructure projects.
Experience performing structural condition assessments and developing rehabilitation/repair design.
Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Preferred)
Structural Engineer (SE) license (Preferred)
OSHA 10 HR Training (Preferred)
