About the Role

The Software Team seeks a Staff Software Engineer to bridge complex hardware with exceptional customer experience. This role involves cross-disciplinary collaboration with IC design, firmware, and marketing teams to build intuitive, customer-facing software that unlocks the full potential of Renesas silicon. As part of a fast-growing product line, your work will directly impact client interaction with next-generation SoC technology. We seek individuals who thrive on cross-functional problem-solving, master multiple programming paradigms, and desire an environment with no artificial growth barriers.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain software for customers and internal teams.
Gather and clarify software requirements from diverse groups including customers, application engineers, hardware, and firmware engineers.
Contribute to existing and new projects using Java, Kotlin, Python, and Typescript/React.
Collaborate with applications and systems engineers to troubleshoot system failures and propose software remedies.
Participate in code reviews for team members.

Requirements

8+ years of comprehensive software development experience.
Technical expertise in Java programming language, with a strong preference for Kotlin knowledge.
Strong preference for experience with JavaFX or GUI development, including exposure to JavaScript or TypeScript.
Ability to investigate and apply new technologies to enhance the developer experience.
Execute creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting, applying unconventional approaches to problem-solving.
Strong understanding of Software Architecture, Design principles, Behavior-Driven Development, and unit testing.
Highly developed written and verbal cross-functional communication skills.
Preferred understanding of DevOps, including JIRA, Confluence, and GitLab.
Strong preference for experience with basic electronics, microcontroller programming, and bus communications.
