About the Role
Seeking Personal Support Workers (PSW) for home and facility settings in Mississauga or Etobicoke.
Responsibilities
- Ensure client safety is maintained at all times.
- Assist clients with overall daily hygiene including bathing, grooming, toileting, and dressing.
- Support clients with ambulation, transfers, and mobility through mobility aids to avoid fall and injury.
- Assist clients with meals, ensuring proper nutrition and dietary requirements are met, and monitoring dietary restrictions.
- Provide emotional support and companionship by listening, being attentive, engaging in conversation, and offering encouragement and reassurance.
- Monitor changes in client behavior, health, and overall well-being.
- Provide care to clients in accordance with facility or hospital instructions and directives.
- Assist staff within the facility as necessary.
Requirements
- Personal Support Worker (PSW) diploma from an accredited institution.
- NACC certificate if credentials were obtained from a private career college.
- Valid First Aid and CPR certificate.
- Valid Mask Fit certificate.
- Basic skills and knowledge in caregiving such as personal care techniques, infection control, and basic medical terms.
- Working knowledge of spoken and written English.
- Ability to take direction from appropriate professional hospital employees.
