About the Role
As Back of House Manager, you will own all activity happening in the BOH. This includes managing inbound deliveries, preparing outbound transfers, leading a team, and ensuring inventory accuracy & efficiency per company standards. This is key role within the store’s leadership team, which reports to the store manager plus a dotted line to JD Canada BOH Manager (Support Office). Your experience making quick decisions, and the ability to pivot with ever changing business needs will be tested daily! The ideal candidate will have a high sense of urgency, be self driven; motivated, have a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day operations of the stockroom (BOH).
- Ensure accurate labeling, logical placement, and maintain general order and cleanliness of the BOH.
- Manage daily e-commerce fulfillment, including picking, packing, and shipping orders.
- Communicate daily with customer service, support office leaders, and other stores via Slack, email, or other channels.
- Decrease store shrinkage by researching inventory discrepancies and problem-solving issues to ensure optimal inventory levels and sales.
- Oversee store supplies, ensuring the retail store has everything needed for daily/weekly operation.
- Lead by example, providing a positive and inclusive work environment for the team.
- Encourage and foster personal progression throughout the staff team.
- Understand and adhere to company guidelines, policies, and procedures as part of the management team.
- Assist with onboarding and training new team members.
- Maintain awareness of all product knowledge, current, and upcoming product trends.
Requirements
- 3+ years stockroom and/or distribution center experience
- 2+ years people management experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and task-oriented
- High sense of urgency, proactive, and organized
- Full-time availability, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays
- Proven experience supervising, training, and developing team members
- Strong cognitive and mathematical skills, including problem analysis, decision making, and financial analysis
- High level of ethics, values, integrity, and trust
- Openness to feedback and willingness to develop
