About the Role
At Soho House, this role ensures smooth kitchen operations, prepares pastries, cakes, and other food items, and assists head chefs. The successful candidate thrives in fast-paced environments, positively influences team members, and delivers top-quality dishes with a diverse and specialized skill set.
Responsibilities
- Produce consistent, quality dishes in fast-paced, demanding environments, knowledgeable on all menu items.
- Assist with inventory and purchasing to maintain sustainable food costs.
- Oversee wastage, cooking temperatures, and quality to reduce costs and educate staff on product cost impact on profit and loss.
- Execute production and a-la-carte dishes, including weekend feast ideas and team meals.
- Supervise line staff, delegate tasks, and ensure proper clock-in/out procedures and breaks.
- Support Executive Chef and Executive Sous with end-of-shift reports and handover sheets.
- Maintain company target goals and Soho House service standards (3-8-10).
- Positively influence and provide a welcoming work environment to boost staff morale.
- Train and educate new and existing team members on "Cook House" procedures.
- Prepare food items in the pantry, fry station, and other kitchen areas, adhering to allergy requests and dish alterations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years kitchen experience.
- Proven leadership within previous teams.
- Proven ability to manage all stations on the line.
- Flexible schedule, including mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to multitask and work in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to seize, grasp, turn, and hold objects with hands.
- Ability to work on feet for at least 8 hours.
- Ability to perform fast-paced movements throughout the club.
- Ability to move, pull, carry, or lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 35 pounds regularly.
- Ability to occasionally kneel, bend, crouch, and climb.
