About the Role

Support the US Leadership team in achieving financial goals for one of Dyson's largest markets. Partner with leadership to evaluate investment ROI and business plans. Serve as both a strategic business partner and financial controller for the business unit.

Responsibilities

  • Lead monthly forecast meetings with business partners.
  • Highlight risks and opportunities to targets and collaborate to increase profitability.
  • Prepare accruals for month-end close and ensure accurate financials.
  • Provide variances for leadership and drive follow-up actions.
  • Provide actionable reporting for business partners to understand P&L/trends and drive business forward.
  • Drive the annual budgeting process by maintaining templates, analyzing trends, and consolidating/implementing leadership feedback.
  • Build strong relationships and provide value-added advice to ensure financial results are understood and optimized.
  • Partner with business operators to ensure accurate expense tracking and accruals.
  • Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects to support business decisions.
  • Lead and develop an Analyst/Associate.
  • Assist finance leadership team with continuous improvement projects, including Commercial Planning system implementation and improved reporting/dashboards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • 5-8 years of experience in an analytical finance role.
  • Prior experience in a marketing or sales organization preferred.
  • Prior experience in forecasting/budgeting/planning processes and reporting/analytics.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to independently research and resolve tasks, collaborating when necessary.
  • Ability to clearly present and communicate complex data analysis.
  • Advanced knowledge/proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • SAP experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Adaptable and flexible, able to multitask and manage competing priorities.
  • Confident in building relationships and engaging with non-financial teams.
  • Organized self-starter with strong ability to work independently and in a team environment.
