This dynamic Senior Process Mechanical Engineer and Project Manager role focuses on planning and engineering design for water/wastewater infrastructure projects. Tasks include calculations, design sketches, report preparation, and field work for diverse water infrastructure projects like sewer and water mains, pump stations, and treatment facilities. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership, communication, market knowledge, business acumen, innovative ideas, and a proven history of client relations and account management.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate commitment to Health and Safety culture.
- Manage complex projects within multidisciplinary teams.
- Manage technical tasks including design, calculations, equipment sizing and selection, specification writing, technical reports, and feasibility studies for municipal infrastructure projects (pump stations, wastewater resource recovery, water treatment, stormwater management).
- Coordinate design and report deliverables for clients and approval authorities.
- Coordinate technical activities across disciplines to ensure design compatibility.
- Attend meetings with clients, team members, and sub-consultants.
- Implement industry standards, manuals, client, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in preparing engineering project documents, client presentations, and client communication for deliverables.
- Prepare engineering and contract documents, including construction specifications, plans, and schedules.
- Evaluate, select, specify, and engineer process mechanical systems or products.
- Conduct quality assurance and quality control on projects.
- Assist with shop drawing review, RFI responses, site observation reports, and contract administration.
- Participate in basic cost estimating under technical leadership.
- Engage with regional industry professional associations.
- Provide independent quality reviews for peers on proposals and project deliverables.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff and peers.
- Conduct occasional site visits.
