About the Role

Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco is seeking a Banquet Manager to join the dynamic Food & Beverage Team. This role requires excitement and dedication in serving guests, emphasizing cooperative teamwork and mutual respect. Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential as the hotel operates 24/7, 365 days a year.

Responsibilities

  • Select, train, evaluate, lead, motivate, coach, and discipline all employees and supervisors in the Banquet Department to meet established cultural and core standards.
  • Manage daily activities and planning for outlet operations.
  • Maintain visibility in the operation, provide recognition, promote good public relations, and handle complaints, concerns, or special requests for guests, clients, and group contacts.
  • Coordinate set-up requirements for hotel and off-site functions according to banquet event orders.
  • Communicate directly with group contacts, Catering Managers, and Conference Services Managers to ensure all function details are executed.
  • Ensure quality and timeliness of all food items.
  • Provide knowledge of wine and spirits in an elegantly appointed environment.
  • Control labor and operating expenses through effective scheduling, budgeting, purchasing decisions, and inventory and cash control.
  • Attend regular operational meetings to ensure effective coordination and cooperation between departments.
  • Observe physical condition of facilities and equipment in the banquet area and make recommendations for corrections and improvements.
  • Perform Manager on Duty (MOD) shifts at outlets when no banquet events are scheduled.

Requirements

  • At least two years managing a high-volume outlet in a luxury environment.
  • Excellent proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal.
  • Prior experience in a unionized outlet (priority consideration).
