About the Role
This experienced Application Engineer role supports customers with advanced monitoring and diagnostic solutions for high-voltage electrical assets. The role serves as a technical link between customers, sales, product management, and engineering, supporting the full customer journey from technical sales to post-installation support. The ideal candidate has a strong background in electrical engineering, power systems, high-voltage equipment, or condition monitoring, with practical experience or interest in Partial Discharge diagnostics. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role combining field work, application expertise, technical communication, and commercial awareness.
Responsibilities
- Support sales teams in customer meetings, proposal preparation, product demonstrations, workshops, and technical discussions.
- Understand customer needs and translate them into technical solutions.
- Clearly explain complex technical topics to technical and commercial audiences.
- Prepare technical content for proposals, presentations, and customer communication.
- Support testing and monitoring for high-voltage assets (transformers, switchgear, cables, grid equipment).
- Plan and execute customer site visits, field demonstrations, installations, commissioning, and troubleshooting of monitoring systems.
- Prepare technical reports from field measurements, monitoring data, or third-party results.
- Deliver customer training on theory, measurement principles, system operation, data analysis, reporting, and asset condition assessment.
- Collaborate with engineering, product management, operations, logistics, and sales for successful project delivery.
- Contribute to application notes, technical documentation, training materials, case studies, conference papers, and presentations.
- Provide structured field feedback to improve products, applications, and customer support processes.
- Share application knowledge internally.
Requirements
- Willingness to travel internationally for customer visits, installations, commissioning, training, and events, typically around 30% of the time.
- Currently residing in the Netherlands.
- Legal right to work in the Netherlands without requiring visa sponsorship or a work permit.

- Experience with fibre optic sensing, acoustic emission, asset management, condition monitoring, structural health monitoring, non-destructive testing, or predictive maintenance.
