About the Role

Support the Walnut Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansion Project in Austin, TX, operating light, medium, and heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Receive written, visual, and oral instructions from supervisor regarding materials to move or excavate.
• Coordinate machine actions with other activities, positioning or moving loads in response to hand or audio signals from crew members.
• Demonstrate safe operation of all equipment.
• Read and understand the results and purpose of all gauges and equipment.
• Properly maintain and service or have equipment serviced daily.
• Perform minor maintenance or clearing of tools and equipment.
• Load and move dirt, rocks, equipment, or other materials, using trucks, crawler tractors, power cranes, shovels, graders, or related equipment.
• Drive and maneuver equipment equipped with blades in successive passes over working areas to remove topsoil, vegetation, or rocks or to distribute and level earth or terrain.
• Perform routine duties under direct supervision.
• Evaluate, select, and apply standard construction techniques, procedures, and criteria to meet basic construction specifications.
• Apply sound professional judgment on details of work.

Requirements

• Four years of experience in a related position.
• Ability to read, interpret, and understand plans and specifications.
• High School Diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
• Pass a pre-employment Substance Abuse and Criminal Background screening.
• This is a safety sensitive position.
• Position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.
