About the Role
Seeking compassionate and detail-oriented Certified Medication Aides dedicated to providing exceptional senior care and fostering a warm, homelike environment for residents.
Responsibilities
- Perform non-routine resident care tasks with independent judgment and discretion.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments, monitor resident responses, and report concerns to the Director of Resident Care.
- Assist residents with medication per procedures and supervise self-administration.
- Maintain accurate records of medication distribution, activities, incidents, observations, and resident condition changes.
- Prepare weekly/monthly summaries addressing service plan issues.
- Support EMR training, order verification, new employee onboarding, incident reporting, and communications when a nurse is absent.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the medicine supply room.
- Receive and manage resident reports.
- Count controlled substances with outgoing RMAs, ensuring accuracy before key acceptance.
- Provide direct resident care as specified in the Resident Assistant Job Description.
- Follow emergency procedures and respond promptly to resident requests.
- Promote teamwork through cooperative interactions.
- Maintain high standards of appearance, cleanliness, and personal hygiene.
- Attend all required in-service training.
- Serve as an active member of the community’s emergency response team.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- Certified Nurse Assistant with state-approved Medication Assistant Certification.
- Current CPR certification.
- 6 months to 1 year of prior resident care experience, preferably with seniors.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills, good judgment, and attention to detail.
- Understanding of HIPAA requirements.
