About the Role

Seeking compassionate and detail-oriented Certified Medication Aides dedicated to providing exceptional senior care and fostering a warm, homelike environment for residents.

Responsibilities

  • Perform non-routine resident care tasks with independent judgment and discretion.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments, monitor resident responses, and report concerns to the Director of Resident Care.
  • Assist residents with medication per procedures and supervise self-administration.
  • Maintain accurate records of medication distribution, activities, incidents, observations, and resident condition changes.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly summaries addressing service plan issues.
  • Support EMR training, order verification, new employee onboarding, incident reporting, and communications when a nurse is absent.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the medicine supply room.
  • Receive and manage resident reports.
  • Count controlled substances with outgoing RMAs, ensuring accuracy before key acceptance.
  • Provide direct resident care as specified in the Resident Assistant Job Description.
  • Follow emergency procedures and respond promptly to resident requests.
  • Promote teamwork through cooperative interactions.
  • Maintain high standards of appearance, cleanliness, and personal hygiene.
  • Attend all required in-service training.
  • Serve as an active member of the community’s emergency response team.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Certified Nurse Assistant with state-approved Medication Assistant Certification.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • 6 months to 1 year of prior resident care experience, preferably with seniors.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, good judgment, and attention to detail.
  • Understanding of HIPAA requirements.
