About the Role

We’re looking for an Android Engineer who doesn’t just write code — you build products that people open every single day. You’ll own key parts of the Replika experience on Android, from architecture to polish, shipping features that directly shape how millions of people interact with their AI companion. We’re rebuilding the app from the ground up. New architecture, new UI, new everything. You’ll be working closely with AI, Design, and Product teams to create something that genuinely improves users’ lives — and you’ll have the autonomy to move fast, experiment, and ship without red tape. Responsibilities

Own key parts of the Android experience, architecting and fine-tuning features.
Boost performance and reliability, eliminating bottlenecks.
Brainstorm, build, launch, and iterate based on real-world feedback.
Collaborate with AI, Design, and Product teams to improve user lives.
Experiment, adapt, and innovate.

Requirements

Built or led development of large-scale Android apps with complex user flows and performance constraints.
Understand the entire product, from UI and animations to performance and crash-free code.
Thrive in organized chaos, adapt quickly, and push for bold experiments.
Proficient in Kotlin, including coroutines, Jetpack Compose, architecture, concurrency, and performance.
Identify and resolve issues, owning features from concept to launch.
Collaborate with product managers, designers, and AI experts.
English B2+ for clear global communication.
Prior experience in B2C organizations with high daily engagement.
Exposure to conversational AI, gaming, or social platforms.
Experience with real-time features, animation systems, or immersive mobile experiences.
Helped define or improve mobile development practices across a team.
