About the Role
Responsible for the safety and protection of employees, guests, the facility, and company assets at the site level, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures. Contributes to a safe and welcoming work environment, aligning with Casino Nova Scotia’s culture of providing outstanding entertainment experiences.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests and control casino access.
- Monitor, document, and report violations, hazards, and suspicious activities; prepare electronic statements.
- Enforce restricted access for unauthorized persons.
- Observe and escort cash and cash equivalent movements; assist with fills, credits, drops, and key control.
- Tag and report found property; transfer items to Lost and Found.
- Conduct regular interior and exterior facility patrols.
- Escort guests and employees.
- Perform identification checks.
- Refer disputes to the Security Shift Manager.
- Perform crowd control.
- Respond to emergency situations, rectifying problems and minimizing liability.
- Perform electronic surveillance of non-gaming facilities and adjacent properties (at some locations).
- Enroll guests in the Self-Exclusion Program (at some locations).
- Communicate effectively with operational departments.
- Follow GEM customer service standards to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
- Develop strong working relationships with stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health and safety, and statutory regulations.
- Perform other assigned duties.
Requirements
- Embrace Casino Nova Scotia culture and guest-focused attitude.
- High School Diploma.
- Serving It Right, Smart Serve, or IGB certification.
- Willingness to recertify for Use of Force every 3 years.
- Occupational First Aid Level 2 (asset).
- Ability to understand, speak, and write English.
- Fluency in other languages (asset).
- Previous security experience (asset).
