About the Role
This role leads investment strategy, budget governance, and external partner relationships within the Central Brand & Marketing team, shaping SumUp's brand presence across multiple European markets. It offers an opportunity to own a function end-to-end with significant commercial impact and senior visibility.
Responsibilities
- Own European marketing investment strategy, annual planning, forecasting, budget pacing, and performance evaluation, shaping the yearly roadmap.
- Lead media strategy and planning across channels and regions, establishing campaign briefing, execution, measurement, and review standards.
- Secure and manage external co-marketing funding and oversee delivery of contracted marketing rights.
- Centralize and professionalize trade show and event marketing across markets, establishing clear ownership, processes, playbooks, and measurable outcomes.
- Partner with commercial and enterprise teams on marketing aspects of key agreements, ensuring clear deliverables and activation execution.
- Represent marketing in cross-functional planning for major launches, new business lines, and market expansions, building business cases and driving senior stakeholder alignment.
- Lead and mentor the campaign team, setting execution standards and structuring activity briefing, delivery, and retrospectives.
Requirements
- Proven track record in senior-level partnership marketing, commercial activation, and event/sponsorship management, transforming complex agreements into measurable projects.
- Strong commercial acumen, including co-marketing budget management, external partner funding, and maximizing contracted marketing rights.
- Ability to structure fragmented workstreams, including trade show planning, event prioritization, governance frameworks, and cross-functional playbooks.
- Comfort working with diverse stakeholders (finance, legal, commercial, external partners), with credibility and communication skills to influence senior levels.
