About the Role

The Bus Aide assists students with boarding and departing the bus, ensuring their safe arrival at destinations. Key responsibilities include maintaining a safe environment for students and allowing the Driver to focus on driving duties.

Responsibilities

  • Help students board the bus
  • Help students depart from the bus
  • Help students arrive safely at their destination
  • Maintain a safe environment for students
  • Ensure the Driver can focus on driving responsibilities
  • Greet students in a pleasant manner
  • Help students as necessary
  • Perform child checks at the conclusion of every tour of duty
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Must be at least 19 years old
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be available from 5:30 AM to 6 PM Monday to Friday with a midday break

Education Level

  • Physical Performance Test completed within 60 days of application
  • Pre-Service Training
  • New York State Escort Training Certificate
  • Red Cross Training Certificate
  • Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) one-hour training course required under PJ’s Law
  • Spring or Fall Refresher

  • Starting Hourly Rate: $19.10
