About the Role

Shape and maintain the UK compliance framework within a fully remote team. This high-impact role involves direct engagement with FCA supervisors and advising senior leadership on regulatory obligations, contributing to the firm's compliance strategies in a transparent and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and develop the firm's UK compliance framework, policies, and monitoring program.
  • Act as primary contact for FCA supervisory engagement, including regulatory requests and inspections.
  • Oversee compliance with FCA rules for cryptoasset and payment services activities.
  • Support future FCA authorization, EMI authorization, or payment institution registration processes.
  • Advise senior management and the Board on regulatory developments and obligations.
  • Own and operate the firm's AML/CTF and sanctions framework in line with UK regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee implementation and ongoing compliance with the UK Travel Rule.

Requirements

  • Prior experience holding SMF16 and SMF17 (or equivalent) functions within an FCA-regulated firm.
  • Demonstrable experience engaging directly with FCA supervisors (regulatory correspondence, inspections, remediation programs, or thematic reviews).
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK AML/CTF legislation, Money Laundering Regulations 2017 (as amended), and sanctions frameworks.
  • UK residency (required for regulatory purposes).
  • Experience in fintech.
