Responsibilities

  • Advise families with children and adolescents facing life-shortening illnesses.
  • Advise families with a palliative care patient or a deceased legal guardian.
  • Coordinate SGB VIII assistance (§§ 30, 31) and SGB IX assistance (§§ 112, 113).
  • Guide and coordinate specialists.
  • Optionally, provide SGB VIII assistance as a specialist.
  • Conduct case discussions, team meetings, and potentially training planning.
  • Collaborate closely with network partners and youth welfare offices.

Requirements

  • Completed degree in Social Work (Diploma/Bachelor/Master) or comparable qualification.
  • Several years of professional experience in SGB VIII and SGB IX.
  • Experience in hospice and palliative care (volunteer experience welcome).
  • Interest in working with children, adolescents, and families facing life-shortening illnesses.
  • Willingness and openness to engage with topics of illness, dying, death, and grief.
  • Desire to create the highest possible quality of life for families.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, often in the afternoon.
  • Experience in reporting to the youth welfare office.
  • Proficiency in digital documentation systems (myneva, Sodisys) and common Office programs.
