About the Role

As part of a larger Engineering Group, the Application Engineer is responsible for a variety of Flight and other Simulator Applications. This dynamic position serves as the primary interface between the Engineering team and the customer, involving travel across Europe and beyond to work on intriguing high-tech Simulator Systems. Key responsibilities include assessing, setting up, tuning, and troubleshooting new and upgraded Flight Simulators, supporting Production with in-house testing, and leading FAT's and SAT's. The role also involves understanding customer requirements, providing advice, translating future needs into product development proposals, and frequent travel for system setup and mechanical assessment at customer facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on assessment of mechanical hardware, tuning, and testing of Moog’s systems in the factory and on-site.
  • Understand customer requirements and specifications for hardware and software customization and configuration.
  • Fine-tune control systems for optimal performance.
  • Manage the full scope of a project or program to ensure customer needs are met.
  • Conduct in-house engineering work for upgrade projects.
  • Apply extensive knowledge of customer applications, including flight simulators, driving simulators, and control cabinets.
  • Initiate new product developments based on field experience and customer challenges.
  • Represent the product and company professionally at customer sites.
  • Support sales in creating scope and work breakdown structures for quotations.
  • Provide training to customers and colleagues to enhance knowledge.
  • Travel frequently (up to 40%) to customer sites globally for system installation, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain a dedicated customer focus and results-driven mentality.
  • Proactively search for new technologies and innovative solutions, demonstrating creativity and inventiveness.
