About the Role

Spearhead design, interaction, and user experience across Geotab's applications, including MyAdmin, MyGeotab, and Geotab Drive. Design end-to-end experiences, collaborating with UX Research, Product Management, Development, Data Science, and cross-functional teams to research, build, iterate, and improve user design and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead research, ideation, and creation of application interactions.
  • Partner with UX Research, Product Management, Development, and Data Science teams to translate user needs into actionable designs and prototypes.
  • Map user flows, wireframes, and prototypes for testing and deployment.
  • Develop deep insights into user behaviors through customer/user experience analysis.
  • Conduct interviews and collect feedback from end users and subject matter experts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, build, and roll out products aligned with Geotab's vision.
  • Produce visually cohesive designs using Design Principles and existing visual frameworks.
  • Design web applications following industry best practices and existing visual frameworks.
  • Support Geotab global strategic initiatives.
  • Track design features and fixes from subject matter experts.
  • Ensure compliance with AODA guidelines for site accessibility.
  • Provide coding support when necessary (e.g., JavaScript, React).
  • Conduct concept and usability testing and gather feedback.
  • Create personas based on user research and data.
  • Define and evaluate interaction models.
  • Ensure designs, code, and animations function across various browsers and devices.
  • Illustrate design ideas using storyboards, process flows, and sitemaps.
  • Design graphic user interface elements, including menus, tabs, and widgets.
  • Build page navigation buttons and search fields.
  • Adjust layouts based on user feedback.
  • Demonstrate Geotab’s Core Values.
  • Contribute to and maintain the departmental Wiki.

Requirements

  • 1-5 years of relevant industry experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in an individual contributor role on a product, experience, or service design team.
  • Relevant Bachelor's Diploma/Degree (Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or related field) or equivalent industry experience.
  • Deep knowledge of product design, common interaction patterns, trade-offs, and best practices for responsive web applications.
  • Proficiency in UI design tools (Figma, Sketch, InVision, Principle, etc.).
  • Technical competence using Google Suite for business.
  • Proven ability to lead user-centered design processes from conception to completion.
  • Flexibility to adapt to growing technology and market demands.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to explain complex ideas to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to engage effectively across all organizational levels.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
