Responsibilities
- Analyze data (annual accounts, bank statements, credit reference agency data) to assess credit risk for SME borrowers on a loan-by-loan basis
- Enhance loan decision quality by integrating market, industry, and portfolio insights
- Expand knowledge of UK SMEs, including accounting practices, industry and financing standards, payment behavior, and relevant legal aspects, to accurately evaluate credit risk
- Provide a best-in-class borrower experience by efficiently reviewing loan applications according to internal quality standards
- Contribute to system, process, and business practice development by recommending efficiency and capacity improvements
- Advise and guide colleagues to maximize commercial opportunities while maintaining Funding Circle’s risk management standards
Requirements
- Experience in credit analysis, ideally SME lending
- A firm understanding of UK accounting standards
- Ability to take ownership of redesigning departmental workflows, using AI to automate complex tasks and drive operational efficiency
- Competence in identifying high-impact AI use cases and implementing advanced prompting techniques to solve multi-layered business challenges
