BRG Transaction and Valuation Opinions delivers valuation services for transaction opinions, portfolio valuation, tax and financial reporting, litigation, and special situations like restructuring and bankruptcy. The firm serves leading hedge funds, private equity funds, venture capital funds, limited partners, lenders, corporations, boards of directors, independent directors, and attorneys. BRG seeks individuals with proven management skills, including recruiting, training, and mentoring junior staff, along with strong financial modeling and valuation technical competencies. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to collaborate with industry specialists and a desire to develop leadership and business development capabilities. This role involves working with senior management consulting professionals on diverse valuation engagements. Responsibilities

  • Analyze historical and projected financial information
  • Develop detailed financial models to value companies and complex securities
  • Direct junior staff in developing detailed financial models to value companies and investments
  • Efficiently manage the aggregation and organization of large data sets in Microsoft Excel
  • Leverage financial and market data software platforms such as Capital IQ and Bloomberg
  • Present thorough valuation analyses to clients consistent with project scope
  • Consistently meet client deadlines and quality expectations
  • Maintain an organized, methodical, and professional demeanor
  • Take ownership in the work product, including analyses developed by junior staff
  • Communicate project status and results both internally and externally
  • Effectively manage project task deadlines for junior staff
  • Demonstrate strong report writing skills
  • Participate in a team environment and collaborate to achieve team goals
  • Actively seek opportunities for practice development projects and personal leadership skill development
  • Actively participate in BRG’s business development activities, including client meetings and presentations
  • Expand network with clients to become a trusted and reputable advisor

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or other related field of study
  • Six to eight (6 to 8) years of prior valuation work experience, preferably with a national accounting firm or valuation firm
  • Experience as a key team member leading the development and completion of client-ready valuation deliverables or similar client service deliverables
  • Proven management skills, including recruiting, training, and mentoring of junior staff
  • Strong financial modeling skills
  • Valuation-related technical competencies
  • Ability to team with a variety of industry specialists
  • Interest in growing leadership and business development capabilities
  • Candidate must be able to submit verification of legal right to work in the U.S., without company sponsorship
  • Significant progress toward an ASA designation or similar designation is looked upon favorably
  • Experience with Option Pricing Models (Black Scholes) and/or Monte Carlo simulation is preferred
