About the Role
We're looking for an Insight Analyst to join our Analytics & Insight team and help drive data-informed decision-making across Moonpig UK. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong analytical mindset who is looking to develop their technical and commercial skills within a fast-paced e-commerce business. Working closely with Analytics Managers and stakeholders across the organisation, you'll support the delivery of high-quality analysis, reporting and actionable insights that help improve performance across trading, marketing, customer behaviour and product performance. You'll play a key role in turning data into meaningful stories, ensuring insights are accessible, accurate and impactful while building a strong foundation in analytics and commercial thinking.
Responsibilities
- Support analysis across key business areas including trading, marketing, customer behaviour, and product performance.
- Translate data into clear, actionable insights, identifying trends, anomalies, and opportunities.
- Deliver ad-hoc analysis to answer business questions and support decision-making.
- Explore datasets proactively to uncover patterns, opportunities, and potential issues.
- Partner with teams across Trading, Marketing, Product, and Finance to understand analytical needs.
- Present findings clearly and confidently to non-technical audiences.
- Support stakeholders by providing timely analysis that meets business operations pace.
- Break down business questions into structured analytical approaches.
- Ensure all analysis and reporting outputs are accurate, reliable, and well validated.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of dashboards, queries, and analytical workflows.
- Collaborate with Data Engineering and Business Intelligence teams to understand data sources and maintain consistency.
- Identify opportunities to improve, automate, and streamline recurring reporting and processes.
- Continuously develop technical capabilities, including SQL and BI tools, alongside commercial understanding.
- Seek feedback and apply learnings to improve performance and effectiveness.
- Contribute positively to team discussions, knowledge sharing, and collaborative problem-solving.
- Take ownership of assigned work, delivering high-quality outputs to agreed deadlines.
- Demonstrate curiosity about the business and how analytics contributes to commercial performance.
Requirements
- Experience in an analytics, data, or similar role, with internships and relevant academic projects considered.
- Degree in a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or Engineering.
- Basic to intermediate SQL skills.
- Strong Excel capability.
- Familiarity with BI tools such as Tableau or similar visualisation platforms.
- Exposure to Python or R is advantageous but not essential.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate data and insights clearly and concisely to a range of audiences.
- Interest in understanding commercial drivers and how businesses make decisions.
- Effective organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Collaborative approach with the ability to build positive working relationships across teams.
- Reliable and accountable, delivering work accurately and on time.
