About the Role
Play a key role in delivering critical technology solutions supporting Susquehanna's business objectives. This role requires a deep understanding of the software development life cycle, IT operational processes, and strong systems thinking. Responsibilities include owning the architecture and design of systems and tools for automation and optimization, building and maintaining deployment, monitoring, and operations tools, and troubleshooting issues across environments. Focus areas include improving system resilience in production, providing technical leadership, unblocking strategic projects, and enhancing developer productivity.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines across various platforms and environments.
- Collaborate closely with production engineers and developers within a business-facing team.
- Automate processes to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Administer and monitor different environments and system health.
- Manage and configure cloud infrastructure services.
- Apply an automation-first approach to trading systems, development lifecycles, and backup operations.
- Troubleshoot issues during testing and provide production launch support.
- Provide production system support, including diagnosing and resolving post-deployment issues, patching servers, implementing automated server hardening policies, and resolving downtime incidents.
Requirements
- Strong experience in infrastructure support, deployment, and monitoring.
- Strong technical skills in scripting.
- Experience with Windows or Linux operating systems.
- Experience in messaging systems.
- Experience debugging network protocols such as TCP and multicast (highly regarded).
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD orchestration tools.
- Exposure to deployment orchestration platforms.
- Proficiency with enterprise version control platforms.
- Understanding and practical application of security models.
- Proven record of seeking continuous improvement and implementing best practices.
- Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Self-motivated and creative.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, conveying complex subjects clearly.
- Attention to detail.
- Interpersonal skills (friendly and approachable).
- Teamwork ability.
- Excellent time management, organization, and prioritization skills.
- Flexibility to participate in early morning and out-of-hours support schedules.
- Desire to learn and improve skills and knowledge.
- Financial trade floor experience is a plus but not essential.
