About the Role
Forensic Engineers lead investigations into damage and performance issues across buildings, structures, and building envelopes. They manage projects from start to finish—coordinating with clients, conducting site visits, analyzing findings, reviewing building codes, and delivering clear, professional reports on time. The ideal candidate has an established client network and has a strong track record of building rapport and maintaining lasting client relationships.
Responsibilities
- Investigate damage to residential, commercial, and industrial properties.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and concerns.
- Conduct thorough site visits to collect field data.
- Analyze collected data, environmental factors, and material properties to determine the cause and extent of distress.
- Write comprehensive technical reports that clearly communicate findings and recommendations.
- Assist in developing repair designs and ensuring coordination across disciplines, as needed.
- Manage project resources and deadlines effectively.
- Stay up to date on relevant building codes and regulations.
- Contribute to a collaborative and supportive work environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience.
- PE license required.
- 5+ years of forensic engineering experience required.
- Excellent communication, writing, and analytical skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
